Frequently Asked Questions

What Car Should I Get?
I Have A Chose Of Getting A Car That Is Made By Gm But Im In The Air Force And Right Now In Spokane Washington But To Cars That I Have In Mind Is The Pontiac G8 And A Chevrolet Avalanche U See One Of My Friend Said I Need To Look At Gas Mileage And Another Said I Needed The 4 Wheel Drive But Trucks And Suv'S Are Not My Type Except The Avalanche So Can You Help

A Pontiac G8 is quite nice.

If you're getting a SUV and you don't usually go off road, a 4 wheel drive isn't necessary.

Gas mileage may be an issue because the Avalanche only comes with a V8 and the G8 comes with a V8 or a V6 (depending on the model). Both cars have big engines.
I believe that the G8 will get a little better gas millage than the Avalanche.

I would go with the G8 if off road driving is uncommon for you. 4 Wheel doesn't have big advantages except off road conditions.

O.K. Heres The Problem. I Have Central Air Conditioning, Well I Just Noticed It Leaking Water From Underneath?
It. Can Anyone Tell Me Why Its Doing This And How I Can Fix It Without Paying A Serviece Man To Come Out And Do It?

LEAKING WATER FROM UNDERNEATH COOLING COIL? IT'S NORMAL FOR YOUR COIL TO SWEAT DURING OPERATION, IT WILL DRAIN THROUGH YOUR CONDENSATE DRAIN. I'M ASSUMING YOUR DRAIN IS PLUGGED, CAUSING YOU TO SEE THIS WATER LEAKING. LOOK FOR A HOSE/PVC PIPE CONNECTED TO YOUR CABINET. DISCONNECT AND CLEAR. THIS IS VERY COMMON, OFTENTIMES WHEN YOU FIRST BEGIN USING IT FOR THE SEASON. THIS WOULD BE THE ONLY SOURCE OF WATER THAT AN A/C COULD CREATE. GOOD LUCK.

What Is The Cost Of Solar Powered Air Conditioning Units?
I Have Seen Several Companies That Produce A Air Condition Unit That Runs Entirely On Solar Power. The House I Am Cooling Will Be Under 500 Square Feet. It Will Be Top Of The Line Insulation And Windows. What Is The Cost Of These Units (For This Size House) When Compared To Traditional Central Air Systems? Costs Should Include Installation, Permits, Running The Ducts Etc Etc.

hey give us link to these companies , I don`t believe it.

Edit,, The first 2 links are the same , the "coolorado"
The sales pitch Is very misleading indeed. Leading people to believe it is a real A/C which it is not. What it is , is an evaporative cooler. Informally know as a"swamp cooler" and is has been used in arid climates for over a century. They are simply using a 600 watt solar array to power the fan motor. and maybe a water pump. Or the that may be powered by the water system pressure. It could work very well for your 500' space.
I have lived in a house in So. Calif that had a swamp cooler and it was comfortable. They are those box mounted on roofs of houses, you prob know what they are.
I do not believe that what they said that infomercial about a 3000' house. If you listen to again with a critical ear. You see how they choose their words very carefully as not to just tell you it is an evaporative cooler. Which is just fine as i said, but that is what it is. A solar powered fan. And a fan powered with 250 to 600 watts would not move enough air though duct work for 3000' but could blow air into a 500' space.
The other one is Battery power system
This one is a real but typical "split system A/C" ( google that if you don`t know what it is) . powered by 48 volts DC instead of AC power. The only difference is ,The motor and electronics work from DC power and not AC power . Other than that is like all other A/C units ,not a solar powered A/C unit but a "battery powered " 48 volt A/C system The batteries are then solar charged. And are also charged with a diesel Generator during times of low solar output .
Those type units are used where someone has built a very large solar array with a huge battery bank and computer controller. That would power the whole house or building.
Those type of systems cost 30,000 to 60,000 dollars just for solar power and battery bank required. You can read more about those type if you research solar power houses.

I think the swamp cooler would suit your purpose ( 500 sq ft ) if you live in an arid climate. As to the cost ? just call them and ask. You wont need much ducting in that small space .

Air Conditioning A 12300 Square Foot House.?
The House Is Located In Nsw Australia Near The Coast. Average Highest Temperature (°F 80.4) (°C26.8) Average Lowest Temperature (°F 48.2) (°C 7.5) What Would Be The Best Air Conditioning System To Install?

Why air condition when the average highest temp is a mere 80.4 deg F? You do not need it.

Secondly with a house that large, you are best served by commercial grade units to heat and cool uniformly.

Thirdly, with a house that big, you need to have some custom engineering done to provide you the best options.

Fourthly, with that size house, you can afford the engineering that you need.

Why Is A Draft Bad For You? Like When You Have 2 Windows Open?
I Heard Its Usually Only Bad For People Who Aren'T Used To Air Conditioning, And How A Draft Makes One Part Of Your Body Cold And You Don'T Notice It And Eventually Get Sick From It. Well, Thats What I Heard. Is That Really Why A Draft Is Bad Or What Is It?

This is an old wives tale. I rarely hear this expression in the summer. It was a common expression when I was a child during the winter. "close the door, we will get a chill and die."

It probably came about because some drafty homes and places of work were never warm enough and prolonged exposure to cold temperatures can have serious consequences.

I live Arizona the summer temps are extremely high. The difference between an overly air conditioned mall and the out of doors ... can be like going from a refrigerator into a blast furnace. For people who have trouble with their internal thermostats and most of us do as we age... this can be a real problem.

Right now I have every window in the house open and ceiling fans in 3 rooms and a fan blowing air too. I am not the least worried or concerned that this is bad for me. The draft this morning will keep my house cool most of the day... I usually do not need to turn on the AC until around 6 in the evening for about 30 minutes.

Information About Miami

Downtown Miami is Miami's bustling epicenter, packed with gleaming skyscrapers, sweeping bay views, and concealed places to explore. From the neighborhood of layers--decades of record overlapping and colliding; tourism destinations like Interface of Miami alongside local favorites like American Airlines Area, home to the Miami Temperature; century-old buildings among new storage compartments of young residents who call a nearby home. Where its southern neighbor Brickell is modern, towering, and thick, Downtown Miami is a mix of the old and the new. It had been the site of one of Miami's earliest international destinations, Henry Flagler's Royal Palm Hotel, which opened in 1897 along the lender of the Miami River. Downtown Miami was home to Miami's first development growth in the 1910s and 1920s, with Flagler Avenue at its core. Freedom Tower, right here inside our itinerary, was the entry point for Cuban refugees arriving in Miami in 1959. Today, Downtown Miami's populace has doubled in fewer than 10 years, and those new residents have brought new restaurants, pubs, outlets, parks, and world-class museums.
