Fix Air Conditioning On A 2003 Celica?
It Worked Until I Went On A Trip Form Fl-Wi Now The Air Condtioning Doesn't Turn On. It Blinks A Few Times,A Nd Never Goes On. What Can I Do To Fix It.
Side Note: What Is Wrong?
When Driving For The First Time Everyday, It Has A Problem Shifting Into The 4Th Gear. About 3 Minutes Of Driving It Shifts Finally (Just Got Tran Flushed And New Fluid In).
Any Reason Why It Is Doing This?
The blinking light is an indication that the compressor is not turning. There are a few reasons why this could happen. The belt is too loose, the MG relay is not working, or the compressor is jammed from internal debris. A good mechanic will be able to find this problem quickly, you will not be able to.The transmission is programmed not to shift into 4th gear until the coolant reaches a certain temperature. What is happening is normal. If it didn't happen before, it is now fixed.
Air Conditioner Doesn'T Cool Other Side Of House Properly?
Just Recently I Bought A Brand New House; Custom Built For Me, Etc. I Thought Everything Was Perfect Until Summer Came And The Air Conditioner Didn'T Cool The Opposite Side Of The House.
When I Turn On The Air Conditioner, On One Side Of The House Where The Condenser Is Closest To, It Seems To Be Cold, If Not Freezing, Compared To The Other Side Of The House Which Unfortunately Is Where The Master Suite Is Situated.
I Was Wondering If This Was A Problem With How They Did The Layout In The Attic With The Tubing Or If It'S Because They Used Cheap Tubing That Warms Up The Air Before It Gets To The Opposite Side Of The House.
Or If It'S Because The Fan, Which Is Located Exactly Above The Part Of The House Where It'S Coldest, Blows Hardest To The 4 Bedrooms Located Their And The Left Over Draft Blows Over To The Master Suite?
Hopefully This Is An Easy Fix?
Ask your builder or the HVAC contractor who did your job to come back and "balance" the system. This may mean tweaking some of the registers or diffusers so more velocity is provided to push that air to the other end of the house.
Typically, you want the furnace and ac coil/blower located in the center of the house to keep from having this problem. Some builders just throw the furnace next to the garage and don't worry about this.
You also could have an air block cushion of hot air in that end of the house. If you don't have any return air grilles in the ceilings in that part of the house- that hot air cushion at the ceiling just kind of hangs around. You may need to add a cold air return in one or more of the rooms at the hot end of the house.
It also could be that there is not much insulation on top of the flex duct running to that part of the house. It probably is insulated flex pipe, however it still needs to have attic insulation laid over the top of it. Attic temps can easily reach 140 degrees.
Check your ventilation in your attic also. Do you have vent ridge? was it installed properly. Usually the plywood on your roof is cut back about 2-3" from the peak on each side of the roof-this slot lets the air up and out through the vent ridge. Some builders get in a hurry and don't even cut plywood back, it looks like you have vent ridge, but it does not really work.
You may need a power roof ventilator to help blow heat out.

Brand New House (Split Level) And Ac Is Not Working Properly?
My Husband (Who Is Gone For Training &Quot;Army&Quot; Until The End Of The Month) And I Just Bought A New Construction Home And I Literally Moved In 4 Days Ago And The Ac Has Slowly Began To Become Less Cool And Never Stop Running. At First I Thought It Was Because It'S A Split Level Home And The Basement Level Is Half Underground. There Is A 2Nd Living Room, Full Bath, Guest Room, And Laundry Room Down There.. I Closed All The Vents Down There Thinking That Would Help.. Still Seemed Warm Upstairs So I Bought A New Filter Cause The One It Came With Looked Cheap. Then I Figured It Was Probably Cause We Had No Blinds On The Windows So I Spent The Entire Night Last Night Hanging Blinds And Today The Air Was The Worst! It Started Out Being 76 Degrees (Which Is What I Had It Set On) And Eventually Kept Rising To 84 Degrees And Never Shut Off.. It Wasn'T An Extrememly Hot Day. It Probably Got To 89-90 Degrees Outside... I Have A 19 Month Old Son Who Is Soooo Uncomfortable And Can'T Sleep Well Tonight. I Ended Up Turning Off The A/C Completely To Let It Rest And Open Up All The Windows Since It'S Basically 84 Degrees Out Right Now Anyway. I'Ve Got My Son Laying On My Bed With The Fan On High Cause It Seems To Be Much Cooler In My Room Then Anywhere Else.. I Just Feel So Bad. Anyways, I Plan To Call The A/C Guy In The Morning Since It'S Covered Under Warranty But I'M Just Curious To See If Anyone Knows What The Problem Might Be.. I'M So Frustrated With This. My Husband Has Been Gone This Whole Month And I'Ve Been Left To Close, Sign For The House, Move Everything Myself, And Be A Fulltime Mom. I'M So Done.. New House, Broken Ac.. What'S The Deal?
From the way you describe the situation your new air conditioner has a leak somewhere. The service man will need to fix and recharge the unit with freon. I would leave the fan on manually to keep the air circulating with the windows open. Also have you thought of getting a motel room for the night. If the unit outside is not running the main a/c breaker may need reset.Hope this helps.
How Does My Air Conditioners Thermostat Work...?
A Week Ago I Bought An Air Conditioner From Lowes.
Its Brand Is Idylis
My First Question Is - Is It Supposed To Turn Off At The Temperature I Set It At?
It'S 72 Degrees In My Room Right Now..I Have It Set To Go Off At 73 Degrees...Now Correct Me If I'M Wrong But Shouldn'T It Of Went Off At 73 Degrees? I Mean, It Does Nothing Like That.
Second Question - 2 Days Ago When I Set It At The Desired Temperature What Happened Was It Would Go To A Very Very Low Fan Speed. Then Go Back To Normal When It Rose A Degree.
It'S Not Doing That Now And It Really Ticks Me Off Because My Energy Bill Is High And I Need To Depend On It To Do It'S Job.
Help Me Out Here, What'S Going On?
1.) A thermostat has a control range. This range is anywhere from plus/minus 1 degree to plus/minus 3 degrees depending on the thermostat make/model. Without the range, the device would be constantly turning on and off. Eg. Set point 73 with a +/-1 range: AC turns off at 72, turns on at 74.
2.) Some thermostats have an anticipation which changes the reaction of the thermostat depending on the rate of change of the ambient temperature. This may be found in some electronic programmable thermostats.
3.) Some thermostats are more accurate than others. Mechanical t/stats built into a/c units and baseboard heaters are less accurate than many other thermostats.
4.) As you have said 10K BTU, I believe you are asking about a portable or window mount or through wall mount. The t/stat is measuring intake air at the unit, which may not be the same temperature as is found at a thermometer elsewhere in the room. Some thermometers are more accurate than others.
5.) Some a/c units have a multi speed fan. Sometimes the operator sets a fixed fan speed. Some units also have an auto select fan speed. With the auto select, the unit will run at a low speed with the compressor off, so that it better senses the room temperature, and then runs a high fan speed when the compressor is on. Typically the fan will run high after the compressor shuts off until the coil warms up, and then the fan speed drops. Also the fan will run low after the compressor starts until the coil cools, and then fan high.
I have given general information. A close reading of the manual that came with the unit should provide some answers about what your specific unit is doing. If you do not have the manual, try googling the make & model #
