Why Does My Air Conditioning Unit Freeze Up?

There's 2 reasons for a/c units to freeze up.lack of freon, lack of air flow.the lack of freon doesnt always mean the level is low,it means its low for the application.if the temp of the air your trying to cool is low,it uses more freon to bring the temp down even more.......your unit can freeze even with the proper charge if the unit is running more than it should if you have a bad stat ot a stuck contactor the unit will freeze just as it would if the freon level is low.........make sure your outside unit is shutting off when the tstat says it should

Thinking About Flying Ultralight Aircraft.?
Hello. As I Sit Here Working At My Local Fbo I Stumbled A Upon A Few Youtube Videos Of Ultralights. I Was Thinking &Quot;Hmmm&Quot;. Right Now I Dont Have Enough $ For A Ppl But Maybe This? Are They Fun? Whats A Price Range? Whats The Training Like? I Have Enough Room In My Backyard For A Runway. Is There One Where I Can Take A Pax Up? Info Is Greatly Appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry about the book that follows, but you asked a lot of questions that couldn't be answered with a yes or no. (Plus you are talking about a sport about which people become quite passionate!!)

There are some very reliable ultralights available, but the life of an ultralight is not as long as that of a certificated aircraft. Used is not something to be contemplated unless you know the previous owner and trust their upkeep of the craft. (or you are expert in repair and inspection of fabric, tubing and 2 cycle engines.)

The engines used for ultralights are pretty much all of the 2 cycle variety for weight. 2 cycle engines are NOT reliable. The first thing that any long time ultralight pilot will tell you is to learn emergency power out landings first as it is a matter of when not if you need to use them.

Get proper training as your life will depend on it. The "No license required" may sound good, but lack of training is a killer even at 55 kts.

There are 2 place ultralights available, (They actually are too heavy to be called ultralight, so are termed ultralight trainer.) but they are for use in pilot training and one seat must be filled by a licensed instructor. To carry a passenger for non-training purposes requires that the pilot hold at least a Sport Pilot License. (and I believe under the new Sport Plane rules must be registered as a Sport Aircraft.)

If you want to look at something really interesting in ultralights, check out Gyrocopters. They are a cross between a helicopter and a fixed wing ultralight with the same flight limits as fixed wing, but able to land at zero forward air speed and take off under certain conditions in a few feet. They also can handle unexpected winds and emergency landings easier. Air Command makes some very good models that have been flying for years. ( http://www.aircommand.com )

Having the space for a runway and being allowed to fly from your yard depend on the area where you live. I'd love to have a place where I could do that. Unfortunately, I live in the city limits and under the approach to an air base, so I can't even have a helipad.

A good ultralight will cost in the $15-20,000+ range new, with some kits being available for about 1/2 that. Used sometimes sell fairly cheap (I've seen them on eBay for $1000) but remember what I said earlier about used ultralights! Kits vary in quality, so check the companies length in business, etc. I've always been fond of http://www.fisherflying.com , but their kits are fabric over wood, vs some of the others like http://www.quicksilveraircraft.com who use fabric over aluminum tubing.

I'd personally recommend only getting one that has full 3 axis controls. That way it will fly like a conventional aircraft.

Some to watch out for have controls that operate backwards, or have no ailerons. (rudder and elevator control only!) This eliminates being able to slip the craft in crosswinds. Any of these will get you in trouble very quickly in an emergency situation.

FUN? OH YEAH!!! Low and slow flying is great. (as long as you aren't in a hurry and don't want to go far from home.)

you should totally get a bunny ! they need alot of care though. but they are worth it ! heres some information on bunnies -

Like children, bunnies will overeat if given the chance. Don't give your rabbit unlimited pellets. He needs only 1/4 cup of pellets per 5 pounds of body weight each day. Look for high-fiber content (18% minimum) and low protein content (14% maximum) pellets, and avoid "mixes" that contain dried fruit, nuts, seeds, or beans. It is also very important to give your rabbit unlimited amounts of timothy, oat, or grass hay. Hay aids in digestion and is the most important part of the bunny's diet. Alfalfa hay is too high in protein for adult rabbits; do not offer it to bunnies over 6 months old.

Rabbits should also get a large handful of fresh, leafy greens each day. Add one new vegetable to his diet at a time, and eliminate it if it causes soft stools or diarrhea. Water can be given to your bunny in either a water bottle or a heavy crock. Whichever you use, change the water daily and remember to clean the container once a week.

All pet rabbits should have a safe haven within the human home, to protect them from the elements, predators, insects, and illness. Rabbits are often kept outside in hutches like livestock, but these bunnies do not thrive in isolation. They quickly become bored, depressed, and overweight.

Rabbits can live safely inside a human home if the right precautions have been taken. The bunny should have a cage or other area all to himself, where his food, water, and litterbox are located; but he should also be allowed to interact with the family and explore his surroundings when supervised. Mornings and evenings are active times when the rabbit is most likely to want to exercise. At night, he can go back in his cage.

A bunny's cage should be as large as possible, with room for the rabbit to rest, move around, and sit up on his hind feet. It should also be large enough to accommodate a litter box. If the cage comes with a wire floor, it should be covered with a board, mat, or carpet remnant. Bare wire flooring can lead to a painful condition called sore hocks

Rabbits also need toys for exercise and mental stimulation. Try providing your bunny with pine cones, newspapers, cardboard tubes, untreated straw baskets, plastic slinkies, or hard plastic baby keys. Chewing on these items will also help wear down his teeth, which grow throughout his life. Do not give him chewable rubber or soft plastic items.

Rabbit-proofing your house is absolutely essential, both for your bunny's safety and for your own mental well-being. Electrical cords, wires, magazines left out on tables, and even the buttons on the television remote control can easily be mistaken for chewable toys! Remove tempting items from your bunny's reach, and cover all electrical cords with shower curtain covers, plastic tubes, or wire covers (see our bunny proofing page). If there are too many temptations, doorway baby gates are perfect for blocking off access altogether.

Many first-time bunny owners are amazed to hear that rabbits can learn to use litter boxes, just like cats

Rabbits are very clean animals; it is neither necessary nor advisable to bathe them (bathing can be very stressful and send them into shock). If your rabbit contracts fleas from other household pets, use a flea comb or kitten flea powder. Never use flea dip or a flea collar.

Rabbits do not need vaccines or most other types of routine care, but a healthy rabbit should be checked annually. It is important to take your rabbit to a veterinarian who is experienced in working with rabbits. Rabbits are considered to be an "exotic" species, and not all vets have the necessary background to treat them properly. The Sacramento House Rabbit Society maintains a list of rabbit-savvy vets; call (916) 863-9690 to find one near you.

What Did Rich People Do Before Air Conditioning?
My Parents Don'T Have Ac. I'M 23 And Still Live With Them. When I Have My Rich Friends Over They Ask &Quot; How Can You Live Like This?&Quot; Sweat Is Pooring Down Their Face And They Don'T Want To Stay. Often, I Am Embarassed To Admit That We Are Too Poor To Have Ac At All So I Explain That The Ac Is Broken And We Just Haven'T Gotten The Workman Out To Fix It. So, How Did The Rich People Survive Without Ac??? I Can See The Blue Collar Families Walking Around In Their Underwear To Beat The Heat But What Did Those Richies Do?

Before air conditioning, rich people had electric fans. Which helps a little bit.
Before that, nobody had fans or airco. Only the VERY rich people could afford to have someone wave a fan.

I live in Bangkok, which normally is pretty hot and humid. I wouldn't want to wear 17th or 18th century clothing in this heat! However, 17th and 18th century people didn't know any better and did. It seems one can get used to everything. Including hanging. As long as you do it often enough, you can get used to it.
