yes it should have a return vent upstairs....and in some cases if the furnace filter is easily got to ...you could have a return vent the same size as the cold air vents in every room upstairs especially in the bedrooms...that is how every system our company installs is installed, sometimes with return vents in every room except bathroom
Which Are The Best Air Conditioners?
I Really Want To Go Buy A New Ac For My Room The Thing Is I Don'T Know The Sq. Ft. But Is A Regular Size Room Maybe 100 Sq. Ft But Is Very Sunny Since The Sun Hits Directly In The Afternoons. I Have A Frigidaire In The Living Room But It Doesn'T Cool Very Well. I Want To Know The Best Window Ac Brands And How Many Btu Would I Need For A Proper Cooling. I'M Not Sure But I Think Maybe 7,500?
I don't know if brand makes much difference. I have an old "Climette" brand that works really good. It was an off brand when I bought it 16 years ago, and it still works great with ice cold air. Appliances are a crap shoot, some last and some don't. 5000-8000 should be fine for the one room.
How Is Energy Efficiency Star Rating Given To Air Conditioners?
What Is The Difference Between 3-Star And 5-Star A/C In Terms Of Energy Consumption? Does The Energy Consumption Vary With Brands?
Star ratings are not a measure of power used. They are a reletive measure of how efficiently the power is used when compared to other similar units. Generally, that may be the same thing, but not always. A unit that uses 5,000 watts may have a 3 star rating, and one that uses 10,000 watts may be rated with 5 stars.
A 5 star rated unit may use more power than a 3 star unit while it's running, but being more efficient, the 5 star should have a shorter duty cycle and run less of the time.
First, shop for a size big enough to cool the area so it won't run constantly. Once you have several brands and/or model numbers, then consider the efficiency or star ratings from that list.

Generators That Runs Air Conditioners ?
I Wanted To Buy A Generator That Run My 1.5 Ton Lg 2 Star Window Air Conditioner,Please Provide The Details Of The Power Needed ,Brand & The Price Of The Generators.
You will need to buy a generator that is rated 4x the running wattage, due to the starting of the compressor will cause your peak wattage. I looked at LG's website and found (3) 1.5 ton LG 2 star window Air Conditioners that all were 240V and all had 1940watt and 8.9A. You can go with a 8000 (peak) watt generator, but me personally, i would use a 10,000 (peak) watt generator. Now you only need such a large size for the safe starting of your compressor. But in reality you will only be using ~2000 watts of that 10K. So feel free to hook other things up to it. Also....... like i said on LG's webpage all they had were 240V units. If for some reason you have a 120V unit, double the sizing mentioned above.
Note: if you use anything less, yes it may run, but kiss your compressor goodbye in a short life.
