Frequently Asked Questions:
I Am Trying To Charge Up My Kia'S Air Conditioning Unit, Where Is The Low Presser Value?
sounds like the a/c system is too dangerous and complicated for your level of experience.
but after you've read the disclaimer, the low pressure valve is the valve that is on the larger hose/pipe between the evaporater and the compressor.
give year and model and i may be able to give you exact location.
just because the high pressure side may result in injury doesn't mean the low side is a walk in the park.

Make Your Used Car New Again. Warranty Your Car Just Like It Came Off The Show Room Floor
Extended warranties and "regular" service of your car/truck are the bread and butter of car companies and their dealers.
Unless you intend to neglect your car from this point forward. The warranty is not needed.
YOUR particular car, should be good for at least another 100K plus. Provided you keep a regular service schedule.
KEEP IN MIND...I said "regular". Do not neglect this car, that only insures problems at a later date.
Change oil, belts, have tune ups...all at recommended intervals. Even sooner for some items...I like changing my oil & filter at 3K.
My neighbor, has a Mitzubishi with over 500K. The only thing he has done to it, other than regular service. A head rebuild at 75K.
How Can I Silence An Air Condition Unit Outside My Apt. Bedroom Window Without Having To Wear Earplugs To Bed
Other than turning it off there isn't much to do to silence the noise. If that is not an option then learn to use the sound to help you to go to sleep. Try to relax and listen to the noise as a comforting sound. I have horrible ringing in my ears (which sometime sounds as loud as our air conditioning unit) and I just concentrate on that sound and it helps me to fall asleep. It may take awhile but think of it as a "good" noise not a "bad: noise.
My Air Conditioning Died All The Way?
I'Ve Called A Guy To Come Fix It.. 2 Times Actually, And It Helped For A Couple Of Days And Then My Air Conditioning Died. It'S Not My Fuse Box, And The Fan Won'T Work Outside..
Anyone Reccomend Where I Should Go To Loan Up To 3,000 Dollars? I Need To Change It Asap. It'S In The Hundreds Outside.
I'm assuming this is a home air conditioner we're talking about here (although most of this will apply to an automotive repair as well).
It sounds like you have a leak in the condenser line. Any good AC service technician will check for a leak when they come to pressurize the system. If you've already had this done twice and it quickly begins not working again than that is a good sign of a leak.
Air conditioners automatically shut off once the coolant pressure drops below a level because damage to the compressor will result if they run without enough coolant.
If your AC service tech suggested that you needed a new air conditioner and then filled the system anyways they are incredibly irresponsible as the R-22 refrigerant used in older systems is both expensive and damaging to the environment. I'd recommend going to a different AC contractor and getting an informed estimate as to the repair cost.
Financing the repair can be difficult. If you have good credit consider opening a new credit card with a low interest rate and setting payment goals so you can take advantage of low introductory APR's before they increase. Another great option is joining a local credit union and taking out a personal loan through them (be warned though, interest rates on personal loans are rarely less than 12%).
Your best bet for staying cool through the remainder of the summer may be to buy an inexpensive portable air conditioner and use it for the short term. They can run as little as $300 and cool the space you use most to a bearable level for the rest of summer. This will let you get through the rest of the summer and save through the winter until you can afford to repair your central air next spring/summer.
Can My Air Conditioning Problem Be Solved Without Calling A Repairman?
I Know I'M Probably Going To Have To Call Someone Over To Look At The Air Conditioner, But I Was Just Wondering If Someone Could Tell Me What The Problem Is. Forgive My Not Knowing The Official Part Names.
Here Are The Symptoms:
It Is Central Air.
The Air Is On But Is Not Cool.
There Is A Major Leak When The Ac Is Turned On. So Major That Is Has Caused Water To Seep Under The Floors And Warp The Wood. Luckily We Noticed It And Have A Pail To Catch Most Of The Leakage.
The Filter Can Hardly Stand Up To The Air That Is Sucking It.
Just Today I Realized That Whenever The Filter Is In More Water Leaks; When The Filter Is Not In The Leaking Stops Considerably. We'Ve Had The Air Conditioner &Quot;Fixed&Quot; Before And The Man Said It Didn'T Need Freon. If The Air Isn'T Getting Cool Where All This Water Coming From?
the water is probebly from the evaperater coil in the blower iceing up and melting.. iceing will also stop the air flow from the vents.. this is cause by 1 of 2 things lack of air( like a pluged filter) or low on refriderant.. once the coil ices up you need to deice it.. this can take up to 24 hrs off .. or 1 to 4 hrs with the fan on but no ac running.. deice 1st than remove filter for a day and see if the leaking goes away.. if it dose dont replace filter with a pleted filter use a cheep one you can see thought. if it still leaks water and the area at the top of the blower unit or furnace is cold and the air is not blowing well its probley under charged. then you need to call someone
