This supplies a platform for business to post their own evaluations and individuals to quickly post reviews without the company in question's ability to expertly solve the problem. In addition, no company would provide an unfavorable recommendation; just those that are extremely favorable. None of these are ideal characteristics for customers looking for totally impartial evaluations and references. It is advised to use these methods as an educated consumer and think about the information source for exactly what it deserves.

I'M Replacing My Gas Furnace And Central Air Conditioner. Which Brand?
I Have A 1400 Sq Ft Split Entry House With A System That Is Roughly 35 Years Old. I Recently Had Sears Come Out And Price A Few Systems Out For Me. They Priced Carrier And Kenmore (Made By Carrier). The Cost Of The Systems Ranged From $8000-11000. The Carrier Was Only A Few Hundred More Than The Kenmore.
The Furnace Was Variable Speed, And The Condenser Was A Two-Speed. The Range Of Seer And Efficiency Ratings Were From 14-15 Seer, And 91-95 Efficiency. Some Of The Models Included Sound Dampening And More Of A Heavy-Duty Housing. Also, There Was A Humidifier And Electronic Air Cleaner, And 7 Day Programmable Thermostat With Humidity Control.
Warranty Was 10 Years Parts/1 Year Labor. Additonal 5 Year Labor, Including 5 Annual Tune-Ups Was Another $1300 (Not Included In The Price).
I Feel That This Is A Lot Of Money For This Equipment? Am I Wrong? Also, Is Carrier/Kenmore A Respected Brand? My Old House Had Rheem And I Was Pleased. The Sears Salesman Said Rheem Was A Cheap Contractor Grade Unit....Please Advise!
Most of my air conditioning equipment at my work is Rheem, at least the stuff on the ground is.
Rheem has one major redeeming quality that sets it apart - it's designed to be worked on. Most outdoor units you see have the compressor in the center, right in the middle of the condenser coil. That's nice for a compact footprint but it's a big PITA when you need to repair something - gotta reach over the coil, which itself is pretty fragile. Rheem puts it to the side so you can do everything on the level, very convenient.
That price sounds a little strong, but I reckon it includes installation, which isn't small potatoes. But call a few more contractors. Get more prices. Estimates are free, you know. The more info you have, the better armed you are against a hard sell, and the Sears guy knows that a lot of folks that come to Sears for that kind of service really don't want to think about it - they just want it done and will take the hit in the wallet to not have to learn anything.
10 years warranty is good. 1 year labor is typical. Additional warranty isn't really worth it, do some annual maintenance (coil cleaning, for instance) and keep the filters changed and it'll go past 10 years easily.
Check with your local utility, they may have recommendations and/or a financing plan that makes it a little less painful to get a new AC system. Shop around and look for the Energy Star rating, and try for the tax rebate (is that still going? I don't know) to take a little bite off.
Variable speed fan is good, two speed compressor is good. That makes your system more effective at off-peak times, and may cut your utility bill.
IMHO you're seeing a bid that's a little on the high side. Shop around. Rheem is a perfectly good brand, some of the units I have in service are over 15 years old and going strong. Trane is good, Carrier is good, Lennox is good.
Stay away from Goodman and Janitrol.
That's it. Good luck with it.
Best Quality Window Air Conditioners? Brands, Philco, General, Hitachi, Samsung, Rasonic, Panasonic, Others?
Which Brands Are The Best? The Worst? A/C People....
I've always liked whirlpool (or Kenmore), Frigidaire or ok which have a good warranty, Carrier suck, stay away from Fedders and as far as the brands you have mentioned, I have yet to work on em, however, we no longer work on window units and those brands must be the new kids on block. But whirlpool or Kenmore always seem to have compressors that last the longest. But now adays you gotta be careful about the better control boards as well. I betcha the Samsung are pretty good, cause I like their phones.
Always Wanted Wavy Hair Now I Have It And I Have No Clue How To Take Care Of It. Help Please?
I Was Born With Straight Blonde Hair. Now I Have Wavy Brown Hair. Which Changed Naturally From Blonde To Brown At Age 6. I Died My Hair Burgundy For A While But Have Since Let It Go Back Brown. The Waves Started Around When I Was 17 And Gets Really Bad In Humidity. Which Didnt Bug Me In Maryland But Now I Live In Mississippi, Humidity Central. I Dont Know How To Do Anything With It Now. All I Do Is Pull It Back In A Ponytail Or Braid It To The Side. But That Is Becoming A Chore......Help Me
Okay i am not going to lie i was born with wavy hair i completely have the same problems as you the thing is with wavy and or curly hair it tends to tangle more then straight hair due to the hair strands coiling around one another and the strands of hair has cuticles which is scales that harvest water and moisture and also protect the insides of the hair so what does scales do is get caught up against each other and wavy hair is only meant to be brushed with wide tooth combs because regular brushes what it will do is since the bristles are so close together is it will not only make the tangling worse but it just coils the hair more making the tangling tighter and while a wide tooth comb brush does is spaces out the tangles so the hair strands can get apart also for some reason my wavy hair does not like silicon whatsoever so i recommend you switch to baby shampoo and or silicon free shampoo and conditioner and or salon brand also with wavy hair you need to cut off split ends i cut off my split ends each month to avoid further more tangling and frizzing and breakage and after you shower wavy hair isn't meant to be blow dried or like rubbed against a towel believe it or not you just have to let it soaked in the water and let it hair dry do not touch it or brush it while it is wet when it air dries you can start detangling it with a wide tooth comb brush and of course while it's wet and you don't want it to be in your face you can put on a hair band or a bandana or wrap it up some how i know this may sound like a lot of work but by the time you do all of what i just said it will start to get more simple for you and you will get used to it if you want your straight hair back you can always get a keratin treatment and or japanese treatment to get straight hair that will last you for a long time or even months on end you better give me 10 points and questions or comments just ask.
Question About Air Conditioner?
They Priced Me 5 Thousand To Have A New Air Conditioner Put In For My Down Stares... Does This Price Sound About Right? Also Is The Price Of Air Conditioners Going To Go Up?
Impossible to answer.
Will vary on area, difficulty on site of install, size, brand, SEER rating and many other factors.
Find trustworthy licensed and insured contractors based off satisfied customers and get 2 or 3 quotes. Make sure the quotes are apples to apples and the company will be around after the install should anything go wrong.
