The copper tubing is more expensive but it is also more durable and harder to kink or puncture too. If you were to get a hole or any kind of leak in a copper tube coil, it can easily be brazed by any knowledgeable technician with no special welding rods or special flux. I highly recommend replacing the outdoor condensing unit, the indoor evaporator coil and the entire refrigeration line-set and stepping up to a higher efficiency system that uses the new #R-410a refrigerant and runs at at least a 16.00 SEER efficiency.
