Frequently Asked Questions:
Is The Air Conditioner Worth The Loss In Gas Mileage?
I Get 17.3 Mpg With The Air Conditioner On (In Town And Highway) Versus 18 With It Off (In Town And On While On The Highway). Is The Extra 14.7 Miles Per Tank Of Gas Worth Not Running The Air Conditioner? 58.8 Extra Miles Per Month? 705.6 Extra Miles Per Year?
Absolutely! On a really hot day, your only other options are driving with the windows open or sitting in the "sauna." If you normally do a lot of highway driving, driving with the windows open creates a drag that forces the engine to work harder to maintain speed. (For short trips or in city traffic, you can roll down the windows and enjoy the breeze, but on the highway, turn on the air.) Choosing the "sauna" option would also likely be more expensive, since you could end up paying doctor's bills to treat your heat exhaustion! 😉
Finally, for myself, when I buy a car, I consider air conditioning to be no more of an "option" than brakes...but, then again, I hate being really hot!
Air Conditioning Problem?
Air Conditioning Design. Design An Air Conditioning System With Recirculation To Meet The Following Requirements. Outside Air Is At 90F (Db) And A Relative Humidity Of 75%. The Desired Inlet Conditions To The Room Are 60F (Db) And A Humidity Ratio Of 0.005. The Room Outlet Conditions Are 78F (Db) And 60F (Wb). The Mass Ratio Of Return Air To Outside Make-Up Air Is 40/60.
What Elementary Psychrometric Component Should I Use
How To Calculate Enthalpy/Moisture Ratio [Btu/Lbmw]
You are missing the critical piece of information.
What is the Building Load? What is the Square Footage, or the number of people occupying the space. That information is critical to your calculations to find out if you need a 100 ton chiller plant, or a 500 ton chiller plant.
Depending on the geographic location, you usually need about 1 ton of A/C load per 400 or 500 sq ft. So a 100,000 sq ft building would likely need about 200 tons to 250 tons of chiller capacity. Most people will install a 2nd redundant chiller.
BTW --- you will need a Psychometric Chart to calculate the heat content of the air.
I Have A 2006 Nissan Murano Awd Sport. For The Past Year And A Half, The Air Conditioning And The Heat Only Kick On When The Engine Is Warmed Up. Once The Engine Is Warm, I Have To Restart The Car, Which Doesnt Always Work. There Are Days When I Have To Drive With No Heat In 30 Degree Weather. I Never Really Know When The Air/Heat Will Turn On, As Sometimes It Doesnt Turn On Even After Being In The Car For Awhile. Any Ideas What This Could Be?
The air conditioning and the heater are two separate things in a car.
A car heater is really simple : it uses the heat an engine produces and just vents it inside the car.
That's why you don't get heat before the engine gets hot.
It's free energy that would be lost anyways.
How Do I Get More Cool Air To Flow Up To My Second Floor?
My Furnace Runs Fine And Heats The Home Well In The Winter But The Cool Air Doesn'T Flow Well Enough In The Summer Time, So It'S Really Hot Upstairs. In Fact, The Cool Air Flowing Out From The Second Floor Vents Feels Rather Weak Compared To The Cool Air Flowing Out From The Main Floor Vents.
What Can I Do To Have More Cool Air Flowing Upstairs? Change Furnace? Is There Some Kind Of Booster Fans I Can Install In The Vents? Etc?
I don't know your living situation, but we live in a two story townhouse with a basement. We were getting heat just fine upstairs, cause it rises, but the cold air was not good. If it is an option, check your basement for vents. I, to this day, do not understand why we had regular vents blowing precious air conditioning into the basement. If you have vents going into your basement try to cover them up. We used duct tape, and Voila! we had A.C. in the upstairs bedroom. Also, try closing vents in rooms that always have the doors open anyway to help send the A.C. upstairs. Good Luck!!
Why The Air Condition Condenser Coil Take Ice In Winter When It Work In Heat Mode?
In Winter Season Air Condition Take Ice The Gas And Power Is Ok But The Condenser Is Take Ice And Blocked And Heating Is Few Special When The Out Sit Temperature Is Minus Zero Degree
Please Gave Me Complete Information
Since you mentioned that it is operating in the "heat mode" you most likely have a heat pump-style air conditioner.
In the cooling mode the outside condenser coil rejects heat from the house. In the heating mode the system reverses the flow of refrigerant so that heat is drawn into the outside coil which has now become the evaporator. Heat pumps work quite well at temperatures around freezing and even have cataloged performance data for well below freezing temperatures. The nature of the performance is that the colder it is outside the less heat you can draw in from it and the performance diminishes. In very cold weather, supplemental heating will be needed.
Whenever the outside coil is operating at sub-freezing temperatures there will be frost formation which will interfere with the performance if it progresses to a heavy thickness or to ice. Some frosting can even occur when the weather is above freezing and especially if it is humid. For this reason most heat pump units go through an automatic defrost cycle. This is most commonly set- up with a timer. When this is occurring you must rely on the built-in supplemental electric heating coils inside the unit to maintain heat delivery.
